Rooms and availability
The room needed to be redone, tile in bath loose, no transition strip (dangerous could slice open a foot) going into bathroom. No sink in bath had to use kitchette sink -no mirror. Hardest bed I have ever slept on, had to use foam pads we just happened to bring inoder to last the entire night. It was not a very positive experience. Even at a $116.00 it was over priced..
The towels were few and too small in size. The cleaning fluids left a very strong perfume odor that was not pleasant. The sofa bed had a note on it that said there were sheets in the closet - there was no closet! The bathroom door almost stuck shut. The finish of the room (paint around fixtures, etc.) had a very poor appearance. It was a little further out of town than I expected, so amenities were not convenient. There were no room numbers on the doors! In short, the place needs a lot of work, and there could be better service overall for the comfort of travellers.
Very close to the village (Oakhurst) and to the south entrance of Yosemite National Park (20 min by car). Very friendly staff. The rooms are equipped with a microwave and a fridge.
It is a bit old but it fulfilled out needs.
The hotel was old and it looked like it was invaded by termite, in fact we later found termite lava inbedded in the headboard of our bed. We changed our room but I think the whole motel was infected by insects, the bed was itch. I could not believe they actually charged us $149. in such beaten up shack. It was definitely not worth it, few miles down the road in oakhurst , there were plenty of motels more interesting and in much better shape !
Location in relation to Yosemite National Park. Owner was friendly and helpful.
Value for the money is poor. The room was over priced for the quality of the motel and the condition of the room. While the room has had some upgrades like a wide-screen TV, refrigerator, and microwave, maintenance was very poor. Two light fixtures were broken. Light bulbs were missing. Drawer fronts were broken making drawers unuseable.Cabinets mounted above the sink force you to sit down to use the sink and mirror. Some upgrades, like the ceramic tile floor, were poorly installed.
The front desk person was very nice and the room was very quiet. Much more quiet than a big hotel would have been. Liked having a refrigerator in the room.
Was farther from Yosemite than we thought. Air conditioning was not very good.
It was our family's first trip to Oakhurst, and this lodge made our stay their very enjoyable, It was a great location, near the town and not too far from yosemite and Bass lake, And I could never forget that great view.
Stuff was very friendly
The room was extremely dirty - the carpet looked like it asn't vacuumed for years, there were hair in the shower and the toilet wasn't very clean. The linen was nice a clean, though
It had a nice view of the mountainside....
I am not sure how to define no complaints on this venue! This hotel is definitely not worth the money spent on lodging- there were no amenities whatsoever! They offer free WiFi in the room but do not have a desk or chair to place your computer for usage - literally on your lap was too uncomfortable on bed. No place to put anything - no hangers for clothes - blinds did not cover entire windows so it lacked privacy, especially the bathroom, and allowed sun in as well. No plugs available- all were being used for necessary items. Above shower big hole showing. Floors were tiled only with no throw rugs - very cold. No parking available. We only booked it because everything in town and surrounding area had no available vacancies. Will plan better next time so we are not stuck with such a place.Barely decent lodging!
Loved the staff. She was so nice!
Small shower, uncomfortable bed, no light switches
The interior is maintained well
The indoor equipments such as heater, tv, etc can be upgraded. The exterior of the cabins definitely needs to be refurbished
Amenities were as advertised..mini fridge, coffee maker and new tv in room.
Over priced. Recent renovation incomplete, with poor workmanship. The only mirror covers only the sink backsplash area, very poor for shaving and makeup, with bare lightbulbs. Low shower head and shower ceiling. Be aware if destination is Yosemite Valley/ village, the motel is about an hour and a half drive away, over winding roads, not a good location to return to at night.
The air conditioner was old and loud, bathroom had mold growing on the ceiling.
Proximity to So. Yosemite
The tv didn't work, the light above the sink had to turned on by standing on something tall, the toilet would only flush if you held down the handle for awhile, no Kleenex, weird smell, sketchy door (didn't feel safe), really hard bed, light glaring in window all night making us think it was day, paper thin walls, gross stains on sheets and bed spread
It was simple, pleasant and economical ($49.50 per night). I prefer such modest independent motels with character, to the chain hotels. The manager was welcoming and accommodating at all hours. Appreciated that she had the room warmed up before out late-night arrival. It was nice to wake up to the beautiful valley out the window. We stayed 3 nights and slept well.
The tap-water pressure was a little spluttery, but it was not a big deal. We'd stay here again.
